Danny runs Solis Et Lunae Creations, a shop dedicated to making products from natural resources.

Introduce your shop

I’m Danny, and my shop is Solis Et Lunae Creations. This shop is dedicated to making products from natural resources. I work with crystal healing energies and aromatherapy qualities to create jewelry, sugar scrubs, perfumes, and candles, and I hope soon to expand. I also provide tarot readings and past life readings. We are a shop that aims to bring natural and metaphysical benefit to everyone!

I have always been sensitive to energies around me. When I was young, I would play "witch" in the forest, feeling the energy of the plants and stones around. I've always been sensitive to the emotions of those around me. For a long time all I did was feel these energies and nothing else.

I was introduced to the metaphysical powers of stones and crystals first. I immediately put this knowledge to work creating jewelry pieces each with their own unique energies, working to compliment the look of the stone and it's properties at the same time.

I deepened my research to everything I could think of, oils, tarot, chakras, herbs.

I have now expanded to making candles and sugar scrubs that utilize the natural powers of herbs and essential oils. I plan to expand to healing salves and other ways of bringing this power to others.

I have also finally channeled my natural talents and provide tarot readings and sessions, and past life readings at request.

When did you turn your craft into a business?

I started back in 2015 under a different name making macramé bracelets. In 2016, I decided to change course; I wanted to use the beautiful colors and textures of beads, and in particular, I wanted to bring benefit to those who wore my jewelry via the properties of different stones and crystals. Thus, I changed branding, and Solis Et Lunae was born.

How did you come up with a name for your store?

I love playing with language as an English major, and Latin has always been interesting and beautiful to me. The sun and the moon are a perfect complement of energies that ultimately encompass, I think, all the energy of the world in two symbols, and I named my store after them because I aim to harness those energies in my works.

How did you start selling on Etsy?

I started selling on Etsy because I purchased on Etsy, and I knew that it was my go to place for handmade products and sellers that really cared. I cared, and I wanted to become part of that community.

Do you talk to your customers? Do you run your website or blog, social media?

I run a blog, a Facebook page, an Instagram, and an e-newsletter for my shop.

What’s your most favorite product?

I absolutely adore the ALIVE sugar scrub! Coffee and vanilla is a great scent combination for me, and my skin feels amazing after using it.

What are your future goals?

Currently, my next goal is to introduce healing salves to the shop. They are the perfect manifestation of what I want to do; heal naturally and metaphysically. They will be beeswax based, and use essential oils, herbs, and aromatherapy to heal and relieve pain and other symptoms naturally. I am currently running an Indiegogo campaign for the funds for this expansion.

My other goal is to make this my full time job. I want to be able to create and aid others, and support myself while I do it.

What’s your process from an idea to a finished product?

I often am very impatient, so I go straight from idea, to production. When I have an idea, I rush to get the ingredients and materials I need. With jewelry, I grab all my beads and immediately get to work. With my other products it’s a fun but frustrating period of experimenting with different amounts of different oils to find the perfect combination of great smell and great effectiveness.

Where and when do you find yourself most creatively inspired?

I find myself inspired mostly in mundane life, to be honest. I think it’s because I want to provide products that aid in this life; as I go through my day, I encounter friends, family, acquaintances, strangers, all with their own problems, and it is in encountering these people each with their individual needs that I find my ideas to help and compliment them.
